Kenneth P. Fleischer

Kenneth Fleischer, 86, of Freeport, died Tuesday March 29, 2011 at the Manor Court in Liberty Village. He was born November 22, 1924, in Freeport the son of Frank K. and Clara M. (Nuesse) Fleischer. Kenneth was a lifelong Freeport resident and graduate of Freeport High School. On April 4, 1953 Kenneth married Helen E. Boelkes in Forreston. Kenneth was a devoted husband and father. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Atule. After the Navy, he was employed at the Henney Motor Company. He then worked for Freeport Buick until 1967 when he and his partner Harold Heimerdinger purchased the dealership. In 1987 Kenneth received Buick'™s General Sales Manager Award which was Buick'™s highest honor. This was only awarded to 24 dealers in the country which was made possible by hard work and his loyal, dedicated employees. Kenneth was a member of the Elk Lodge #617, Eagle Club # 679 and the Freeport Amvets. Survivors include his wife; Helen Fleischer of Freeport, two sons; Robert J. (Dionis) Fleischer and Kevin (Debra) Fleischer both of Freeport, 4 grandchildren; Kyle Fleischer, Korbin Fleischer, Jason Cross and Jodi (Andy) Graber. Also surviving are two great grandsons; Jackson and Jamison Graber. Preceded in death by his parents and one brother Robert F. Fleischer. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday April 1, 2011 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with the Rev. Rodney Caldwell officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs.
