Keith J. Meuris

Keith J. Meuris, 46, of Leaf River, died Tuesday July 17, 2012 from a motor vehicle accident. He was born on June 27, 1966 in Chicago, Il, the son of John J. and Mary J. (Prosek) Meuris. Keith married Jill Burroughs on February 10, 1995 in Hawaii. Keith was owner of Meuris Excavating, and also worked at Unimin Corp. in Oregon, IL. He attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport. He was a mentor, father, and best friend. Keith loved the outdoors, playing in the dirt, gardening, and cooking. Surviving Keith in death is his wife Jill Meuris; his mother Mary J. Meuris; one son Kyler Meuris; one daughter Jennah Meuris; three brothers Kraig (Kathy) Meuris, Kurt Meuris, and Kyle (Rhonda) Meuris ; one sister Kari (Jerald) Siefker; and his extended son Sawyer Johnston; many nieces and nephews; and a large number of friends. Keith was preceded in death by his father and sister. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday July 21, 2012 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston with Father Arturo Mallari officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:00 until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs.
