Keith E. Evans

Keith Eugene Evans, 82, of Freeport, IL passed away Thursday January 9, 2025 at Manor Court of Liberty Village in Freeport. He was born September 19, 1942 in Freeport, IL, the son of Harry and Helen (Stanley) Evans. He graduated from Stockton High School in 1960. Keith served in the United State Air Force from 1960-1964. Keith was looking forward to an opportunity to travel abroad through the military, but he ended up serving his time in Alaska, which he and his family found humorous. Upon his honorable discharge from the military, Keith returned home and married Alice Matts on November 20, 1965 at United Evangelical Church in Stockton, IL. Keith worked at Kelly-Springfield Tire Company for 33 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and going to the casino. Keith was an avid Illini fan. Family & friends admired his handyman skills and enjoyed his many Christmas crafts over the years. Most of all, Keith loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandkids compete in their sports. In Keiths later years, he became a Netflix movie critic, at least in his mind. Keith enjoyed a rich life which gave his family many, many memories to tell. A friend to many, leaving behind a legacy of kindness

He is survived by his wife Alice of Freeport, IL; two daughters Angie (Gary) Lilek of Burr Ridge, IL and Kim (Angelia) Evans of St. Louis, MO; sister Donna Kupersmith; two grandchildren Paige and Evan Lilek; and step-granddaughter Cassie (Andrea) Barnes and great step-grandchildren Nathan and Madeline Barnes.

Preceding Keith in death are his parents, brother Stan (Kris) Evans; three sisters Shirley Kunz, Audrey Jean Wade, and Rita (Ron) Magee; and one brother-in-law Duane Kupersmith .

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday January 16, 2025 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Chaplain Jeremy Heller officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial of cremated remains will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association and can be directly donated at diabetes.org
