Kay King Anderson

Kay King Anderson, 61 Anna Maria, Florida - Born 12-24-53 in Havre de Grace, MD, to Lyle Eugene and Emmalena Atteberry King. She attended primary school in Freeport, IL, and later attended the University of Kentucky receiving a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture. That was followed by a Master's Degree in Tax Law from the University of Denver Law School. Kay worked as a tax accountant for Coopers and Lybrand, and later for Leeman Butterwick, both in Denver, CO. Later, she worked in a similar position at U.S. West, located in San Diego, CA. On December 17, 1993, Kay married Barry Anderson in Freeport, and had been engaged in volunteering and philanthropy in both Freeport and Anna Maria ever since. Kay was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Barry Anderson, stepson Vincent C. (JoAnn) Anderson of Bluffton, SC; a grandson, Marco V. Anderson of Bluffton, SC; her brother, Scott (Kathy) King of Freeport; nephews Christopher and Matthew King of Freeport; and sister cousins Debra Norgren of Freeport and Vicki Smith of Williamsburg, VA. She was always nice to everyone. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday April 25, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home 504 N. Walnut Avenue Freeport, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be a private burial. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory at the Amity Society of Freeport, IL.
