Kathleen R. Cruz

Kathleen “Kathy” Rose Cruz, 73, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023 after a brief illness in Freeport, Illinois. She was born October 11th 1950 in San Antonio, Texas to Arthur L. and Rose (Williams) Fosler. Kathy was a Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR fan, she loved to bake, to make crafts and loved spending time with her family. She was a member of the Women of the Moose.

She is survived by her 3 daughters and their families: Bridgette Wilhelm, Dustin, Catherine and Amanda; Heather Cruz, Jasmine, Jaylen and Janae; Julianne McDew, Chuckii, Micah and Isiah. One great-grandchild Messiah Propst. Kathy is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Christopher (Leila) Fosler, Nolaine (Jimmy) Dillion, Beth Lopez and Gary Fosler. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Phillip Kostentbader; niece, Ginny and Randy Gill, Amber and Josh Bratley and family, Cory and Neely Gill and family, and Mike Gill and family and family member Tiffany Buss. There is also her nephew PJ and Shelly Kostenbader, Chance Greenfield and Jordan and Isabella Kostenbader and many more nieces and nephews.

She preceded in death by her mother and father, sisters Amber Kostenbader, Robin Fosler, brother William (Billy) Folser, and Laverne (Buddy) Fosler. Kathy has made an impact on many lives and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home on Friday December 1, 2023 at 3:00 pm in Freeport, Illinois. Visitation 1:00 pm until the time of service. A memorial has been established in her name in lieu of flowers.
