Kathleen K. Benoodt

Kathleen K. Benoodt, 70, of Freeport, died Wednesday June 18, 2014 at FHN Memorial Hospital. She was born February 9, 1944 in Idanville, IN, the daughter of Charles and Mary Mae (Widner) Grant. She married Jerry Benoodt on November 25, 1961 in Lanark, IL; he died on May 30, 2001. Kathleen was a housewife and also worked at Burgess Battery. She enjoyed sewing, fishing, and flowers; especially roses. Kathleen is survived by her three sons David Benoodt of Freeport, IL, John Benoodt of WI, and Rex Benoodt of IL; three daughters JoAnn Bryant of AK, Florence Hooper of Freeport, IL, and Vicky Benoodt of Freeport, IL; three sisters Marilyn Delk, Carolyn Heill, and Darleen Johnson all of Jacksonville, FL; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister Mary Lou. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday June 24, 2014 a Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, with Rev. Lisa Fike officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory.
