Kathleen M. Dilworth, 82, of Freeport, Illinois died Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 in Freeport, Illinois after a brief illness. She was born May 4, 1930 in Bellevue, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Kathleen (Orr) Sullivan. Kathleen married Alan D. Dilworth on November 11, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa. Alan died Novermber 3, 2002. Kathleen was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High School. Many years of private lessons and practice allowed her to help many children come to love and enjoy music. She was a member of Community Reformed church where she taught children's choir for many years. She also maintained her lifelong membership to the Dubuque order of the Eastern Star. She loved to play bridge and belonged to Freeport Bowling leagues. She loved animals and often helped with donations to the Freeport Humane Society. Kathleen worked for many years at Lee's Market in Freeport, Illinois and later worked and retired from Micro Switch. She enjoyed and was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her hobbies included cooking and baking her famous homemade cinnamon rolls and bread. She loved listening to and playing her favorite music on the organ. Surviving are her children, Diane (Russ) Bradford of Lake Carroll. Dana A. of Boston, Mass., David A. (Patrice) of Freeport, and Dale R. also of Freeport; four brothers; Harry (Vera) Sullivan and Thomas (Maurine) Sullivan both of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Richard (Janet) Sullivan of Dubuque, Iowa; and Paul (Judy) Sullivan of Alexandria, VA. One grandaughter, Nichole (Randy) Schauer of Pearl City, Illinois and Todd (Kelly) Bradford of Zionsville, Indiana. Three great grandchildren, Riley, Mattie, and Tess. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Burton officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
