Kathleen B. Iler, 95, of Freeport, died Saturday January 29, 2011 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. She was born on November 5, 1915 in Orangeville, IL, the daughter of Bissil and Kathryn (Zweifel) Belknap. Kathleen married Kenneth A. Iler on June 29, 1935 in Freeport, IL; Kenneth died on February 28, 1992. Kathleen attended Embury United Methodist Church, and she was a member of the Ladies of Elks. She was a big basketball fan of the Chicago Bulls especially Michael Jordan. She enjoyed working in her yard with her flowers and doing crewel needle work which she shared with many of her friends. Kathleen is survived by her care takers and special friends Mark and Judy Schanfeldt of Freeport, Il, and Lloyd and Betty Mull of Sterling, Il; and staff members of Freeport Rehabilitation Center who was part of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother Dwight who was killed in WWII. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday February 2, 2011 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Rev. Jonathan Singleton officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs.
