Karl G. Klipping

Karl G. Klipping, 64, passed away February 15, 2017 in his home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 23, 1952 to Robert and Margery Klipping. After graduating from Forreston High School as an Illinois State Scholar, he completed an Associate of Science degree at Highland Community College in Freeport. He married Christine Malott at Forreston Grove Church on November 4, 1972. Karl served in the Army Reserves from 1972 to 1978. From 1972 to 2016, Karl worked for Micro Switch (Honeywell) as an engineer in the Quality Assurance Department. After 44 years, he retired to enjoy his motorcycles and working on yard and shop projects. He served on the board for the Village of Forreston for four years, and during that time, he participated in the Community Swap Committee. He was also involved in the development of Ogle County's GIS. Karl is survived by his wife, Christine, two daughters: Raina (Bryan) Dyck with their children Nathaniel and Elizabeth; Adrienne (Sam) Coussens and their children Nicolas, Victoria, and Remy. Karl was the middle child of seven who survive him: Mary (Dewey) Endress, David (Shirley) Klipping, Terry (Linda) Klipping, Tom Klipping, Gayle (Keith) Arnold, and Wendy (Brad) Lawrence. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Cheryl (David) Graff. Preceding in death are his parents, Robert and Margery Klipping, and his parents-in-law, Herbert and Lois Malott. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for Grace Fellowship Church and the Village of Forreston to assist in completing renovations to the Village Hall. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 18, 2017 at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church, 2525 W Stephenson St in Freeport. Pastor Justin Coverstone will officiate.
