Karen K. Dorsey

Karen K. Dorsey, 61, of Freeport, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Rockford Memorial Hospital. Karen was born on March 9, 1951 in Mauston, Wisconsin, the daughter of Duane and Dorothy (McMillan) Baker. Karen married William L. Dorsey on January 1, 1988 in Mauston. Karen was a natural caregiver and it gave her great joy to help and take care of everyone she knew. She loved being a stay at home wife and grandma and spending lots of time with her grandkids. She was very active member of New Life Bible Church and enjoyed baking for the farmers market and her friends and family. Karen was always a very giving and caring person. Surviving are her husband, William Dorsey of Freeport; two daughters, Melissa Saunders of Winnebago and Mindy Saunders of Pecatonica; two stepsons, Tim (Chris) Dorsey of Independence, Iowa and Monty (Judy) Dorsey of German Valley; sister, Patti Baker of LaCrosse, WI.; two brothers; Jerome (Sherry) Baker of Mauston, WI., and Ronnie (Meisha) Baker of Houston, TX; her beloved grandchildren, Cyric, Hannah, Chloe, Nathan, Brandon, Tana, Chance, Monica, Brittney, Billy, Mike, Kelly, Jenna, Lisa, Patrick and Tyler. She is also leaving behind numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Dennis and Lawrence. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at New Life Bible Church, 2285 North Hoisington Road, Pecatonica. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Church. Following the service there will be a luncheon also at the Church.
