Karen Faye Newill

Karen Faye Newill, 77, of Freeport died Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Swedish American Hospital. She was born March 23, 1944, in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Eldon and Ardath Rabe. On June 9, 1962, she married Donald Newill in Martintown, Wisconsin. Her family was blessed to have her as a homemaker and caretaker. Karen was a long-time member of Bible Community Church. She volunteered at both St. Joseph's Adult Daycare and Oakly Courts Assisted Living. Her family and her church were her everything. Surviving are her children: Tana Gillette of Freeport, Teresa (Thomas) Dewey of Freeport, Tammy (Roger) Woodyatt - Wilson of Freeport, Todd Newill of McConnell, and Troy (Tonya) Newill of Forreston; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Lloyd Boelk of Winslow and Charles (Lois) Newill of LaMars, Iowa; and her extended family the Ruckers. Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; two sisters, Corrinne and Carma; son-in-law, Jimmy Woodyatt; grandson, Dakota Woodyatt; honorary daughter, Tina Rucker; and special friends: Meryl Knight and Char Dewey. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 18th, at Community Bible Church in Freeport with Pastor Kurt Strong officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation hours are from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 17th, at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home.
