Julie Ann Callos

Julie Ann Callos 64 of Freeport, Il went to be with the lord on March 11,2025 peacefully at home.

Julie was born April 23,1960 in Chicago Il to Adelbert and Alice Simandl. Julie enjoyed her job of 23 years as a supervisor of many departments at Walmart. She was a big supporter of The Children’s Miracle network through Walmart. She was known for her bright personality and hardworking attitude. Her Faith and Love for the lord showed through to all she met.

In her free time Julie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and supporting them in all their sports and activities. She was so proud of her grandchildren. Julie also loved the time spent with the love of her life Leo. Together they enjoyed going to parks, Christian concerts and just exploring together.

In her free time at home Julie enjoyed raising her chickens and a wide range of crafts and sewing. Which she shared and passed down to many friends and family along the way.

Julie is survived by her life partner Leo Rodriguez. Her three children Jacqueline (Ben) Hayes, Christine ( Nathan) Pickard and Michael (Nicole) Callos. Two brothers Ken (Neva) Simandl, Joe( Mia) Simandl and one brother-n-law Larry Sunders, one sister-n-law Shelly Simandl and a special aunt Felicia (Bob) Faessel and her six grandchildren Adeline, Kiptin, Deklan and Kezlin Pickard, Everett Hayes and baby Girl Callos due in May. Julie was also a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Julie was a very giving and caring woman who just enjoyed life to the fullest. She will be dearly missed by so many.

Julie is proceeded in death by her parents Adelbert and Alice Simandl , one brother Al Simandl, two sisters Kathy Saunders and Cindi Wengelewski and one nephew Austin Simandl.

A brief memorial gathering will be held from 10-11:30 on Saturday, March 22nd at Zion Community Church (10100 W Sabin Church Rd, Pearl City, IL 61062) with a Celebration of life luncheon from 12-3.
