Julia Elizabeth Bear

Julia Elizabeth Bear, 67, of Freeport, passed away March 26, 2016 at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. Julia was born on May 1, 1948 in Shullsburg, Wisconsin, the daughter of Austin and Mary Elizabeth (Mullen) Scace and beloved step-father Shirl Hilliard. Julia spent countless hours with family and friends at Krape Park and Lake Le Aqua Na. She enjoyed photography, collecting knickknacks, especially cardinals, bears and horses. She was an advid Wheel of Fortune watcher and sports fan. She is survived by her sons Jimmie (Amy Beyer) Bear of Stockton and Alex (Cindy Castle) Bear of Freeport; daughters Lori (James) McGuire of Hoffman Estates and Barbara Bear of Hoffman Estates, the father of her children, Jimmie R. Bear of Vienna; sisters, Corlyn (Todd) Rutter, Thora (David) Bradbury, Virginia (David) Kentner; Joyce Bradbury; brothers, Orthel "Sam" Scace, Harry (Mary Kaye) Scace, Charles "Chuck" (Gloria) Scace, Harold Scace; brother-in-law Merle Bardell; sister-in-law, Dee Scace; grandchildren, James, John, Krystal, Shaun, Ethan, Natalie, Devyn, Peyton, Jordan, and Jaxon: great-grandchildren, Dimitri, Namine, Dylan, Oscar and Xavier. And many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, brothers; Stanley, Edgar "Eddie" and Steven John; sister, Lorraine and sister-in-law Juanita Scace and brother-in-law James Bradbury. Visitation will be from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. With a memorial service at 6:00 P.M. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Rev. David Vidler will officiate. A private burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Warren at a later date. A family gathering will be hosted in moms honor at Krape park later this summer.
