Judith 'Judy' K. Dees, 69, of Freeport, died Sunday, February, 10, 2013, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Judith was born on May 28, 1943, in Edwardsville, Illinois, the daughter of Ernest and Ethel (Foehrkolb) Dees. Judy worked for Burgess Battery, W. T. Rawleigh Company, she was a Micro Switch group leader for 25 years, and she also worked as a substitute teacher caller for the Freeport School District. Judy was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, she was an avid Chicago Bear fan, she enjoyed traveling, and her family was very important to her. Survivors include her sister Carol (Roy) Grossenbacher; her special friend, Electa Trei of Freeport, other special friends, Michael (Vicki) Diestelmeier of Freeport, and their children, Jodi (Rob) Barber, and their children; Jessica and Tyler Barber, and their children Jori (Brian) Nott and their son Tanner; three nephews, Mike Grossenbacher, Randy (Cami) Grossenbacher, and Danny Grossenbacher; three great-nephews, Nic, Corbin, and Justin; two great nieces Zaylinn and Ashton. Also surviving are friend Shanon Duncan and Judy'™s special four legged friend Bridgett. Judith was preceded in death by her parents and two nephews; Mark and Ricky. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Pastor Mark Luepke will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday also at Prince of Peace from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Judy'™s memory.
