Judith "Judy" A. Babcock

Judith "Judy" A. Babcock, 81, of Freeport, passed away, Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Judy was born July 9, 1940, in Freeport, the daughter of Frank and Harriet Jane (Balles) Reitinger. Judy was a proud graduate of Aquin Catholic High School and Dubuque Beauty Academy. She worked for several years at Food Bonanza. On September 7, 1959, Judy married Norman "Eugene" Babcock in St. Mary's Catholic Church, at which time Mr. Babcock was proudly serving in the US Navy. Surviving is two sons, Jeff (Heather Kilheeney) Babcock of Orland Park and Steve (Colleen) Babcock of Freeport; two daughters, Janet (David) Graves and Mary Demos both of Freeport; also surviving are many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Judy was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather, Merle Rosenstiel; daughter, Nancy Woitynek; grandson, Nicholas Schramm. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday October 12, 2021, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Fr. Timothy Barr will officiate. Visitation 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm Monday October 11, 2021, also at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Judy's memory.
