Judith A. Van Loh, 70, of Mercedes, Texas and former Freeport resident, died Saturday, October 25 at Solara Hospital, McAllen, Texas. She was born August 8, 1944 in Freeport, Illinois, the daughter of Joseph and Marguerite (Hauth) Dawson. She married Gerald "Jerry" Van Loh on February 23, 1963 in Freeport, Illinois. Judy was a 1962 graduate of Freeport Aquin High School, attended Highland Community College and Southern Illinois University. She farmed in The German Valley, Illinois area... for twelve years with her husband then was employed by Uehling Oldsmobile and Gustmann Honda in Appleton, Wisconsin. Judy enjoyed Arts and Crafts, quilting and was a Drum and Bugle Corp fan. She was a member of the Redhatters. She is survived by her husband, her son, Gerald A. Van Loh II of New York, New York, daughter, Kristine (Matthew) Bergmann of Dale, Wisconsin, sister in law Mary (Norm) McGinnis of Gainesville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Van Loh. Funeral services for Mrs. Van Loh will be Thursday, November 13, at 10:30 A.M. At Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, 504 N. Walnut Ave., Freeport, Illinois. Visitation will be 9:30 A.M. until time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Freeport, Illinois.
