Juanita C. (Schoonhoven) Harris walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior on March 10, 2021, at OSF Hospital in Rockford, IL. Juanita was born on November 16, 1944. She was born to Arthur and Florence (Hayenga) Schoonhoven. Juanita graduated from Orangeville High School in 1962. She received her cosmetology license from the Sterling School of Beauty Culture. She and James (Jim) Harris were married on February 15, 1964. Juanita was a beautician for many years. She was also a cook at the Open Bible Day Care and then worked for Aerial Beauty Supply Co. before retiring. Juanita was a member of Crossroads Community Church, where she was a member of the prayer team and was also a co-leader of a small group with her husband. Her care group members were an extension of her family. She enjoyed crafting, especially card making and scrapbooking. She made family keepsake scrapbooks for each grandchild's birth and wedding. She also made one for each great grandchild's birth. Family to Juanita was top priority. She enjoyed family time. She had a laugh that was contagious. She loved to do fun and silly things. She and the love of her life, Jim, enjoyed traveling. They were blessed to visit many exciting places. If Juanita met you, you would no longer be a stranger, you became a friend forever. She loved sharing Jesus with those she knew. She not only talked about Him, but the way she lived life was in his footsteps. She was a great example of Jesus to her friends and family. Juanita is survived by her husband and two daughters, Colleen (Don) Russell and Sherry Harris; six grand children Kristina (Pat) Brown, Austin (Jamie) Russell and Kaitlyn (Chris Curtis) Russell, Nicholle Crawford, Derrick (Ellen) Wildes and Ryan (Lindsey) Wildes; twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Genevieve Stewart, brother, Doug and sister-in-law Carol Schoonhoven; brother-in-law Harry Stultz and niece, Bonnie Stewart. Visitation will be Sunday March 14, 2021 from 3:00 PM -5:00 PM and one hour prior to funeral. Funeral services 10:30 AM on March 15, 2021.
