Joyce P. Rickert, 100, of Freeport, died Tuesday July 7, 2015 at the Lena Living Center. Daughter of Clarence and Emma (Appelquist) Canfield, she was born on February 9, 1915 in Pecatonica, Illinois. She and Edward Rickert were married November 25, 1933 in Freeport. Mr. Rickert passed away on January 9, 1998. Joyce was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ. She sold Avon Products for many years and always enjoyed sharing them with others. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. The family would like to send a special thanks to Rockford Hospice Care of America for the fine care they showed Joyce. Surviving are her three daughters, Carol (H.E.) Weier of Cedarville, Judith (Donald) Lee of Rockford and Joanne Fuller of Freeport; 10 grandchildren, Tim Scanlon, Jaime (Paul) DiMarino, Marc (Sharon) Weier, Donald (Marie) Lee, Michael (Lisa) Lee, Gregory Lee, Patricia O'Haver, (Kevin Ludeking), Sean (Kelli) Fuller, Bradley (Jennifer) Fuller and Laura Fuller; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Esther Rickert; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, her son, Richard Rickert; brother and sister-in-law, Roland and Pauline Canfield; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Fuller. Private family services were held Friday July 10, 2015 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial was in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in her memory.
