Joyce Elaine Connors

Joyce Elaine Connors, 75, of Freeport, IL went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday July 9, 2021 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 14, 1946 in Freeport to Warren and Florence (Ratmeyer) Kaney. On February 6, 1970 she married John Connors at First Baptist Church in Freeport. Joyce was a 1967 graduate of the Freeport School of Nursing. She was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church in Freeport. Joyce enjoyed Sudoku puzzles, gardening, butterflies, and most importantly spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She is survived by her husband John of Freeport; son Jeff (Heidi) Connors of Apple Valley, MN; two daughters Jodi (William) Uitos of Macomb, MI and Julie (Brady) Baares of Marietta, GA; two brothers Dr. Dale (Sue) Kaney of Freeport and Gerald (Kathy) Kaney of Fort Wayne, IN; and ten grandchildren JoLaine Uitos, Nolan Uitos, Makeah Uitos, Larsen Uitos, Jonathan Connors, Jessica Connors, Aaron Connors, Isabel Baares, Olivia Baares, and Emilia Baares. Preceding Joyce in death is her parents. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday July 17, 2021 at Park Hills Evangelical Church with Pastor Larry Elliott officiating. A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Friday July 16, 2021 at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church. There will also be a visitation Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Joyce's memory that will be given to both Tri-County Christian School and FMH School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship Fund.
