Joy Marlene Seaton

Joy Marlene Seaton, 74, of Freeport, IL, passed away on October 9, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Joy was born on May 18, 1949, in Freeport, IL, to John and Doris Ross. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jerry Seaton, and her parents.

Joy attended Forreston High School. After high school, Joy worked in insurance briefly before dedicating herself to being a stay-at-home mom during her daughters' school years. Once her daughters were older, she embarked on a career at US Bank. Starting as a teller, Joy's hard work and dedication propelled her to the position of Branch Manager. She retired from US Bank, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and commitment.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Joy's true passion resided in her family. She married the love of her life, Jerry Seaton, on April 22, 1998. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, finding immense joy in supporting her grandkids in their various athletic pursuits. Whether it was volleyball, basketball, football, softball, or cheer, Joy could always be found on the sidelines, cheering them on with boundless enthusiasm. Her grandkids were her life, and their triumphs brought her immeasurable pride. Joy also had a deep love for her St. Bernard dogs, with Ike and Lucy being two of her favorites. Sundays held a special place in her heart as they were reserved for cherished family time, filled with dinner, movies, searching for tadpoles, or throwing a softball around the backyard.

Joy is survived by her two daughters, Heidi (Mike) Stingley and Jaime (Steve) Pizzolato, as well as her stepchildren, Doug (Shelly) Seaton and Micki (Kyle) Jacobson. She also leaves behind her amazing grandchildren: Evie Stingley, Hanna Pizzolato, Hailey Pizzolato, Brittni Seaton (Wayne), Kyle Lepak, Maverick Seaton, Bo Seaton, Lucas and Robert Jacobson, and great-grandkids Seven and Paisley Rasner.

A visitation will be held on October 12, 2023, starting at 9:30, followed by a service at 11:00 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, located in Freeport, IL.Joy Marlene Seaton will be deeply missed by all those who had the honor of knowing her. Her joyful demeanor and vast amount of love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends.
