Joseph W. Best

Joseph William Best, 35, of Freeport, IL, formerly of Denver, CO, passed away Friday June 11, 2021. He was born May 15, 1986 in Glenwood Springs, CO to Patrick and Mary Ann (Schmelzle) Best. Joseph was a graduate of Aquin High School. For the past year Joseph worked at Menards in Freeport. He enjoyed pets and all animals. Traveling throughout Asia for a year was one of Joseph's favorite times of his life. He is survived by his parents Patrick and Mary Ann; brother Clayton Best; sister Bridget (Ryan) Schwab; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Joseph is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents Clayton and Marie Best and Robert and Mary Schmelzle. A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday June 25, 2021 at St. Wendelin's Catholic Church in Shannon, IL with Father Michael Bolger officiating. A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday June 24, 2021 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, with a Prayer Service beginning at 2:30. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Davis Mental Health Group.
