Joseph T. Van Brocklin

Joseph T. Van Brocklin, 31, formerly of Orangeville, passed away Monday July 11, 2016 at his home in Chicago. He was born on April 19, 1985 in Rockford, the son of Darren and Naomi (Ortman) Van Brocklin. Joseph served in the United States Marine Corps. He attended Illinois State University where he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. He was an avid fan of the Bears, Blackhawks, and Cubs. Spending time with family and friends was a very important part of Joseph's life. Joseph really enjoyed having a good time and was known as a social nut. Surviving are his father Darren Van Brocklin of Forreston; mother Naomi (Ed) Dotzel of Orangeville; grandparents Linda Ortman of Freeport, Robert Ortman of Missouri, Darrel Van Brocklin of Nevada, and Susan K. Finkbeiner-Miller of Cedarville; and two brothers Josh Dotzel of Orangeville and Jackson Van Brocklin of Forreston. Joseph is preceded in death by is grandparents Ed and Rose Dotzel. Visitation time will be 12:00 P.M.-3:00 P.M. Saturday July 16, 2016 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his memory.
