Joseph D. Kirk, 75, of Freeport, IL surrounded by his family and friends went peacefully to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2nd at his home. Joe was born in Charleston, Mississippi on September 20, 1937 to the late Clifton Kirk and Rolina Nash Kirk. Joe graduated from Tallahatchie County Agriculture High School in Charleston, Mississippi, May 20, 1957. Joe married his high school sweetheart, Pearlie Mae on December 3, 1959. To this union were born four children, Joseph Jr., Zachary C., Russell L. and Pamela. Joe was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an Usher, Brotherhood Vice-President and a Trustee. Joe worked as an Orderly at the Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston, Mississippi before coming to Freeport. In August 1966, he moved his family to Freeport, IL. Joe held a variety of jobs. He retired from Mitek Corporation in 2005 after 15 years. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories : wife, Pearlie Mae Kirk; three sons, Joseph (Kozue) Kirk of Las Vegas, Nevada, Zachary Kirk of Rockford, IL, Russell Kirk of Freeport, one daughter Pamela (Stanley) Kirk-Smith of Freeport, Mother, Rolena Crump of St. Louis, Missouri, two sisters, Bertha Crump, Rosie Lee Williams, three brothers, Eddie Lee Crump, Roosevelt Crump, Sammie Lee Crump, all of St. Louis, Missouri, one great grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Kirk, one brother, Brady Crump, Jr. and God-Parents Lee and Josie Woodie. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 '" 7:00 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. There will also be a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at St. Paul. Entombment will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
