Josefina Acupan Frial

Josefina Acupan Frial, 80, of Freeport, IL passed away January 28, 2025 at Monroe Hospital, Monroe, WI. She was born August 17, 1944 in Leyte, Philippines, the daughter of Cesario and Loreto (Simon) Acupan. She migrated here in the U.S. with her late husband November 17, 1989. Josefina started working on a farm in Delano, CA and after she worked at a carrots company, Premier Packing. Josefina lived in Delano, CA from 1989 through 2008, then after her husband’s retirement they moved to Freeport, IL in April of 2008. Josefina’s family will remember her as a very kind person that was willing to help others without telling her.

Survivors include her children Melchor (Annaliza) Acupan Frial of Vancouver, Canada, Maureen (Jonathan) Frial Adams, and Minasara (Khon Hemsouvanh) Acupan Frial of Fresno, CA; six grandchildren Marc Anthony Frial Galang, Khalia Adams, Amahra Adams, Melchor Jann Frial, Marvin Frial, and Khenali Frial Hemsouvanh; siblings Adoracion Acupan Moreno of Acupan Moreno, Phillipines, Amado S. Acupan Vancouver, Canada, Flor Hernandez of the Philipines, and Julieta Acupan of Los Angeles, CA; and countless furbabies.

 She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Emmanuel S. Acupan.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 8, 2025 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home with Father Andrew Hernandez officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M until the time of service. Cremation rites have been accorded following the service. A memorial has been established in her memory.
