Jose Roque Cardoso

Jose Roque Cardoso, 91, of Freeport, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Pearl Pavilion in Freeport. Jose was born August 16, 1924, in Havana, Cuba, the son of Tomas and Anita (Triana) Cardoso. Jose married Ruth Alvarez on June 27, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, and U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Cardoso of Freeport; two son Joseph and Clyde Cardoso; brother, Rene Cardoso; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday October 4, 2015 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Father Robert Camacho will officiate. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service.
