Jon M. Miccolis

Jon M. Miccolis, 53, of Freeport, IL, passed away Tuesday November 15th, 2022 in his home. He was born on March 20, 1969 in Oak Park, IL to Dominic and Phyllis (Fioramonti) Miccolis. He spent his early childhood in Melrose Park, IL and graduated from Lake Park High School in Roselle, IL. He served in the United States Marine Corps, earned a bachelor's degree in history and theology from Elmhurst College and a master's degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Capella University, and enjoyed a successful career as an auditor before retiring early for health reasons. Jon's interests were varied, and his talents were broad. He was a certified HAM radio operator (KB9WVK), was extremely well read in history, philosophy, and religion, appreciated many genres of music and was a musician in his own right, and had a passion for cultivating native plants. He was a fierce debater and possessed a cutting wit. Jon was a deep, complicated, and private person. Jon is survived by his son Alexander Miccolis, his parents Dominic and Phyllis Miccolis, his sister Michelle (Eric) Dreyer, his brother Patrick (Kelly) Miccolis; his nieces and nephews; Tanya Kosey, the mother of his children; and his beloved dog, Jessie. He was preceded in death by his son, Nathan Miccolis, his grandparents Dominic and Ann Miccolis and Michael and Mary Lou Fioramonti, and aunt Anita (Miccolis) Mueller. Private services will be held.
