Jolene Carney

Jolene Carney (Klaus), 59, of Freeport, died, Monday, December 14, 2015 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. Jolene was born on December 3, 1956 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Jospeh E. Carney and Julia Durnak. Jolene worked at MetLife as a claims litigation specialist. Jolene enjoyed traveling, working at MetLife, and taking care of her flower garden. She was an avid football fan and enjoyed rooting for the Chicago Bears. She also enjoyed animals, especially her dog Dee Dee. Surviving are her husband, David Klaus of Freeport; father, Joseph Carney of Orrville, Ohio; daughter, Kristen (Sean) Woitynek of Freeport; sister, Janice Carney of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers, James (Carol) Carney of Harvest, Alabama, and John Carney of Riverside, California; two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kyleigh Woitynek. Also surviving are loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of long time friends. Jolene is preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services will be Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Pastor Gardy Cronk will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport.
