Johnnie Lee Heard

Johnnie Lee Heard departed his earthly life on January 27, 2012 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Il he was born on May 13, 1936 to Gabe and Leeatta (Haynes) Heard in Bonita, LA. He was raised along with 10 siblings. Johnnie attended Rosen Ward High School in Bonita, LA. While growing up, Johnnie worked on the farm as well as in the field. He later moved to Chicago, IL where he met Lillie B. Sanders and together they had six children. Johnnie worked at a Potato Chip Company, on the rail road, and at an industrial company, McCoy Tire Manufactory in Chicago, IL. He was also very skillful working with his hands. He worked on cars, televisions, and other appliances. Johnnie (Lillie) moved his family to Freeport, IL where he worked at Modern Plating Company. Above all he enjoyed fishing with his family and friends. Johnnie left to cherish his memories: his children Carl (Sharon) Lawrence of Bastrop, LA, Tyrone (Anita) sanders of Chicago, IL, Theresa Sanders, Juliette Sanders, Julianne Jackson, James (Anjuray) Sanders, and Myrise Sanders all of Freeport, IL; His extended family includes Robert (Jean) Fane, Larry (Gwen) Sanders, and Dee Sanders-Moore all of Freeport, IL, Annie (Mack) Allison of St. Louis, MO, and Katie Sanders of Rockford, Il. Joining in their grief are his sisters Jessie M. Heard of Merouge, LA, Bessie Heard of Bonita, LA, Dorothy L. Heard of Bastrop, LA, Marry M. Griffin, Rose Griffin, and Thomas Heard of Los Angeles, CA. Preceding him in death are his parents Gabe and Leeata Heard; his companion of 49 years the late Lillie B. Sanders; three brothers Gabe Heard Jr., Robert Heard, and sam Heard; one sister Dorothy J. Heard; and from his extended family L.C. Fane and Ora Ellis. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 4, 2012 at Faith for Miracle Deliverance & Worship Center located at 3247 S. Bailleyville Road in Freeport.
