Johnnie A. Edison

Johnnie Allen Edison, 74, of Racine, Wisconsin formerly of Freeport, departed this earthly life on January 29, 2023 in Racine. Johnnie was born on May 16, 1948 in Hickory, MS the son of Johnnie and Nannie (Youngblood) Edison. He served in the United State Army from 1966 to 1969 and was proud of his service. Johnnie worked for Modine Manufacturing Company in Racine for many years prior to his retirement. Johnnie is survived by his children, Aayla Edison of Freeport, IL; Stephanie Taylor of Racine, WI; Lasonia Lewis (Scottie) of Rockford, IL; 11 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; his mother Nannie Mae Edison: two siblings, Barbara Hilton and Garry Edison (Hilda) both of Freeport; Nephews and nieces Octavia, Brandy, Garry Jr, Corey and Derrick and a very special cousin and friend, Jimmy Johnson. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service was held 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 11, 2023 at St. James CME Church in Freeport, IL.
