John Veasley

John Allen Veasley, beloved husband, father and grandfather was called to his heavenly home on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from Provena St. Joseph Center. He was the son of the late Clyde and Lottie Mae Veasley. Born on July 21, 1939 in Kosciusko, Mississippi. John retired from Kelly Springfield Tire Company. John was an avid fisherman and faithful Deacon and trustee at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving family members include his wife of 47 years Alee Phillips Veasley; two sons, Ronnie Stewart of Gilber, AZ and Vince Veasley of Freeport; three daughters, Noreen (Kevin) Taylor of Newport News, VA., Drenna (Reginald) Love of Hampton, VA. and Joanne Drummond of Greensboro, NC.; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; siblings, Clydie Mae (Sammie) Hughes, Sarah Brown and Eddie Veasley all of Freeport and host of loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Annie Ruth Veasley, one brother, Willie James Veasley and one cousin who was raised as a brother, Everett Veasley Jr. Funeral services will be held at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 602 S. Chicago Avenue, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday December 3, 2011 Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
