John "Moon" Mullen Jr.

John "Moon" Mullen Jr., 64, of Freeport, died Monday, October 15, 2018 at VA-Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin. Moon was born April 28, 1954 in Freeport, the son of John and Delores (Blair) Mullen Sr. John married Laurie Fecteau on September 11, 2004. He worked as a machinist at Honeywell for many years. He was a United States Marine Veteran serving in Okinawa during the Vietnam War. Moon enjoyed many outdoor activities, including golfing and fishing. He was a die hard Green Bay Packer and Atlanta Braves fan. Surviving is his wife, Laurie Mullen of Freeport; mother, Delores Scott of Freeport; sons, Chad Mullen of Freeport and Matt (Audrey) Mullen of South Carolina; daughters, Lindsay (Casey) Stephan of Freeport; brothers, Mark (Debbie) Mullen of Nora and Marty (Sarah) Mullen of Freeport; sisters, Cheryl Mullen of Atlanta, Kathy (Gary) Hunziker of Gilbert, Iowa, Trudy (Bob) Kramer of Sparta, Wisconsin, and Michelle (Jerad) Bennett of Nora; also surviving are four grandchildren, Rayce, Taytum, Delaney, and Grady. Moon was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, Ralph Scott; sister, Robin Sheahan; and nephew, Nicholas Reynolds. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday October 19, 2018 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Pastor Roger Brokema will officiate. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Following the service a luncheon will be held at First Lutheran Church (303 West Galena Ave. Freeport). A memorial has been established in his memory.
