John Enzinger Jr.

John Enzinger Jr., 80, of Freeport, died Thursday, September 3, 2015 in his home. John was born on February 8, 1935, in Stephenson County, the son of John and Paula (Gruber) Enzinger. He graduated from Orangeville High School in 1953. John was an U.S. Army Veteran serving form 1954-1956. John was a farmer for many years. After retirement he worked for his son's business, E-Z Care Services, which John loved. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church in Afolkey where he was on the Church Board. John was also a member of the Orangeville School Board, Midwest Dairy Board, and Buckeye Township Board. John enjoyed being outdoors in the garden, around flowers, and socializing with friends and family. He appreciated all animals especially dogs. Surviving are four children, John (Peggy) Enzinger of Freeport, Cindy Preuss of Palmyra, Wisconsin, Deanne (David) Gross of Orangeville, and Daryl Enzinger of Fitchburg, Wisconsin; sister, Hattie (Victor) Aebly of Freeport; brother, Edward (Ruth) Enzinger of Dakota; seven grandchildren, Heather Penticoff, Nichole Lerdahl, Benjamin Preuss, Matthew Preuss, John Onley, Betsy Onley, and Beckey Wilson; and three great-grandchildren, Andrew Penticoff, Abbie Penticoff, and Hannah Lerdahl. John was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday September 9, 2015 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. Rev. Chris Schmidt will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday September 8, 4:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. also at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in his memory.
