Johanna M. 'Joni' Swalve, 35, of Freeport, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 after a sudden illness. She was born on October 4, 1975 in Burlington, IA., the daughter of Daniel and Pamela (Parrott) Bennett. Joni was a homemaker. She married Chad Swalve on August 22, 1998 in Shannon Methodist Church Joni was a member of Shannon Baptist Church. She was a Girl Scout Leader. Her children and family were the most important part of her life. Survivors include her husband, Chad of Freeport; her mother, Pamela (Richard) Harris of Kankakee; one son, Cole Swalve of Freeport; one daughter, Destiny Swalve of Freeport; one brother Steve (Carrol) Bennett of Rockford; one sister Debra (Eric) McIntosh of Freeport; grandmother Mary Lou (Richard) Parrott; in-laws Darryl and Linda Swalve of Shannon, and Darryl'™s mother Gladys Swalve of Shannon. Preceded in death by Wayne Swalve. Funeral services will be Friday 10:30 a.m. at Burke-Tubbs Freeport. Pastor Tim Lehman will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday 3-7 p.m. at Burke-Tubbs Freeport.
