Johanna G. Funk, 76, of Baileyville, died Saturday, November 10, 2012, at FHN Memorial Hospital. Johanna was born on October 1, 1936, in Rochelle, IL., the daughter of Fred and Helen (Joeston) Alderks. She married Robert A. Funk on September 8, 1956, in Kings, IL. Mrs. Funk was a member of North Grove Evangelical Church and the 60'™s Alive Club. She did volunteer work for the Forreston Community Center and Immanuel Lutheran School. Johanna enjoyed boating on the Rock River and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed following her children and grandchildren'™s activities more than anything. Mrs. Funk is survived by her husband; two sons; Jeff (Nancy) Funk, of Chicago and Jerry (Holly) Funk, of Freeport; Two daughters: Lynn (Rod) Genandt, of Forreston and Lori (Tim) Gipper, of Mt. Morris; her brother, Marvin (Marilyn) Alderks, of Rochelle; six grandchildren, Krysta (Ben) Dittmar, Andrew (Dani) Genandt, Kyle and Jordan Gipper, and Haley and Taylor Funk. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Paige and Khloe Dittmar and Aria Genandt. Johanna was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:30 A.M. At North Grove Evangelical Church, rural Forreston with Rev. Tom Hotchkiss officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 4:00 P.M. '" 8:00 P.M. at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, 203 South 3rd Avenue, Forreston. A visitation will also be held from 9:30 A.M. until time of service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in North Grove Evangelical Cemetery. Memorials have been established for F.H.N. Hospice and North Grove Evangelical Church.
