Jimmie D. Boddie

Jimmie Dan Boddie, 71, of Freeport went to his homecoming on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Rockford Memorial hospital. Jimmie was born September 21, 1941 in Carthage, Mississippi the son of Elisha and Lucy Boddie. He lived most of his life in Carthage, Mississippi. He worked as a building supplier at Howard'™s Building Supply and as steel worker at Pellet Steel. Jimmie was a passionate man who loved family, old cars, music, Jerry Springer, traveling to Mississippi and especially talking about his trip to Las Vegas and many childhood memories. Jimmie leaves to cherish his loving wife of fifty years; Linda, His four beloved daughters; Mary (Todd) Boddie, Janet (Trevern) Boddie, Gwendolynne(Tara) Boddie, and Tonjia (Eric) Johnson. His three devoted sons; Thomas Boddie, Tyrone (Suzette) Boddie and Kenneth Boddie. His three caring sisters; Rubie Boddie, Katie (Billie) Boddie and Ella Walker. His kind loving brother; Weldon (Martha) Boddie. Also his high spirited mother in law, Mary Smith. As well as many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Jimmy Boddie. A funeral service for Mr. Boddie will be Thursday, 1:00 P.M. at Saint James C.M.E. Church, Freeport. Rev. Roy Howard, pastor, will officiate.
