Jerry C. Reifsteck, 71, of Freeport, and former Hanover resident died Tuesday, October, 30, 2012, in his home. Jerry was born June 29, 1941, in Savanna, the son of Clyde and Dorothy (Williams) Reifsteck. On June 16, 1999, Jerry married Evelyn Roemer in Freeport. Jerry worked as a Union Carpenter, was a former bar owner in both Hanover and Scales Mound. After retirement Jerry worked part time at Barkau Auto. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and his grandchildren meant the most to him. Survivors include; wife: Evelyn Reifsteck, of Freeport, two sons: Randy (Chris) Reifsteck, of Abingdon, IL, Jon (Karen) Roemer, of Freeport, three daughters: Debrah Martz, of Abingdon, IL, Linda (Harold) Lomas, of McConnell, and Bobbie Roemer, of Freeport, brothers: Joe, John and Joel Reifsteck, six granddaughters: Kylie Reifsteck, Emily Roemer, Rachel Roemer, Muranda Lomas, Stacy Duth, and Haley Duth, four grandsons: Nathan Martz, Nicholas Martz, Gerald Lomas, and Kenneth Lomas. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Jeff Hellwig and family Preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, uncle Don Campbell and sister Jean Murphy. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, with Lowell Stussey and John Collins officiating.
