Jeanne Ann Klaus

Jeanne Ann Klaus, 88, of Freeport, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, April 13th, 2022. She was born on December 6th, 1933 in Freeport, IL, daughter of Glenn and Carolee (Knauff) Yoder. Jeanne was a 1952 Freeport High School graduate and married Robert Klaus Sr. on February 13, 1956. They were together 47 years until his passing in 2003. Jeanne was a homemaker while raising her 5 children following which she worked at FHN Memorial Hospital for 21 years as a dietary supervisor and a central supply tech. She was a member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church. Over the years, she enjoyed being active in Joy Singers, Park Hills Bible Studies, Sunshine Singers, and an RSVP Volunteer. Jeanne was an avid card player and valued the friendships made while living at Liberty Estates. Jeanne was a loving and caring mother, grandma and great-grandma. She cherished spending time with her family and wouldn't miss an opportunity to be involved in her grandchildren's lives. She is survived by her two sons Dave Klaus and Bob Klaus both of Freeport, IL; three daughters Debbie (Doug) Whalen of Freeport, IL, Amy (Jim) Folk of Winnebago, IL and Sarah (Robert) Meier of Freeport, IL. Jeanne had 10 grandchildren Kristen (Sean) Woitynek, Jennifer Singler, Eric (Jennifer) Whalen, Mike (Tara) Klaus, Christopher Whalen, Shawn (Jen Tucker) Klaus, Danielle (Lucas) Peterson, Daniel (Maia) Meier, Josh Folk, Brandon Meier and 13 great-grandchildren. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Carolee (Knauff) Yoder; husband, Robert Klaus Sr.; brother, Dale Yoder; sister, Marion Reed; and daughter-in-laws, Jolene Carney and Maribeth Klaus. Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Monday, April 18th, 2022 at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church, Freeport, IL with Pastor Larry Elliot officiating. Visitation to precede service from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Jeanne's memory.
