Jean Wubbena

Jean A. Wubbena, 85, passed away on July 25, 2023 at her home surrounded by loved ones and her beloved cat, Patches, in Forreston, IL.

Jean was born on October 04, 1937 in Winslow Township the daughter of Paul and Evelyn (Rabe) Messinger. She married James L. Wubbena on September 27, 1958 in Orangeville, IL. He preceded her in death on March 19, 2010. Jean worked as an Insurance Underwritter at Forreston Mutal for many years prior to her retirement. She was a longtime member of Park Hills Evangelical Free Church in Freeport. Jean was a past 4-H leader of Forreston Friskies and Summer Hill Huskies. She, herself at 80 won the most first places enteries for her pies and other baked goods at the Freeport Fair, even though her favorite dessert is sugar cookies. In her spare time she enjoyed yard work and reading. Most of all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jean is survived by her two daughters, Jacqueline "Jackie" Potts of Dallas TX, Jolene (Tim) LeClere of Forreston; three grandchildren, Dalton (Emily) Potts, Connor Potts, Austin (Kiley) LeClere; four great- granchlidren, Eloise Potts, Liam LeClere, William Potts and Charlotte Potts.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Messinger.

Visitation will be held on July 31, 2023 from 10:00am until time for funeral service at 11:00am at Park Hills Evangelical Free Church, 2525 West Stephenson Street Freeport, IL, with Pastor Chris Stukenberg, officiating. Private Entombment will be at Oakland Cemetery and Mausoleum. Pallbearers are Connor Potts, Austin, Kiley and Tim LeClere and Honorary Pallbearers are Dalton and Emily Potts.

A memorial has been established.
