Jean K. Folgate

Jean K. Folgate, 87, of Freeport, died August 27, 2012, in her home. Jean was born n Stephenson County on December 8, 1924, the daughter of Oliver and Adeline (Moses) Hutmacher. Jean married Donald R. Folgate on October 4, 1942 in Cedarville. Mr. Folgate died March 26, 2008. Jean and her husband farmed in Buckeye Township for over 50 years. She was a member of Cedarville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her garden and taking care of her flowers. Being with family was most important to Jean. Survivors include; two sons; Richard (LaVonne) Folgate of Monroe Center and Gary (Jean) Folgate of Freeport, three daughters; Diane Baxter of Rockford, Kathy Folgate of Freeport and Sue (Barry) Hartje of Baileyville, one sister; Lois Meinders of Freeport. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and three sisters. Funeral services for Mrs. Folgate will be 1:00 P.M. Friday August 31, 2012 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Pastor Paul Gerardy officiating. Visitation will be from Friday from11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
