Janice K. Forney

Janice Kay (Pagel) Forney, of Forreston, IL, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024 at KSB Hospital in Dixon, IL with her beloved family by her side.

Janice was born (hatched) on October 29, 1954, in Monroe, Wisconsin, daughter of Daryl and Marie (Neuenschwander) Pagel. On March 8, 1976, she married the love of her life, Raymond Forney. She worked hard all her life at various businesses. From her youth, she was active in 4-H and Washington Reformation UCC in Monticello, WI, where she grew up. Jan enjoyed cooking, baking, reading, tractor pulling, animals of all kinds, especially horses, and playing games. Most of all, she was dedicated to her entire family, including raising her two grandsons. Her trips with her husband, mother, sister and brother-in-law were memories she treasured.

Jan is survived by her loving and devoted husband and best friend, Ray; son Robert (Stephanie) Forney, Billings, MT; daughter Lisa Forney, Forreston, IL; son Raymond Wayne (Doreen) Forney, Dixon, IL; grandsons Daniel, CJ, Brayden, Tim and Chris; dear mother, Marie Pagel; loving sister, Joyce Hummel; sister-in-law, JoAnn (Gary) Abels; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who will greatly miss her. She loved her animals, particularly her horses and her best dog, Bella.

Janice was preceded in death by her father, Daryl Pagel; father-in-law Albert (Lucy) Forney; mother-in-law Juanita (Edwin) Lauts; brothers-in-law Larry Hummel and Carl Forney. At her request, a private service for immediate family only will be held at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston, IL. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
