Janice E. Snapp, 84, of Forreston, died Monday September 29, 2014 at Pine Crest Community in Mt. Morris. She was born May 17, 1930 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of Robert and Esther (Ludwig) Berends. She married Albert Snapp July 15, 1950 in Freeport, IL. Janice worked at W.T. Rawleigh Company. She was a member of Forreston First United Methodist Church, where she was a part of the United Methodist Women's Circle. She was a 1944 graduate of Immanuel Grade School, and a 1948 graduate of Freeport High School. She enjoyed writing for the Forreston Journal, and was an avid Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and Forreston Cardinals fan. Janice is survived by her husband Albert Snapp of Forreston, IL; two daughters Joan Snapp of Freeport, IL and Jean Snapp of Minneapolis, MN; also one niece and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Emerson Berends. A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M. Friday October 3, 2014 at Forreston United Methodist Church with Rev. David Poust officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the church. Private immediate family burial will take place at White Oak Cemetery.
