Janet E. Frisbie, 92 of Shannon, passed away peacefully Tuesday September 5, 2017 at Presence St Joseph, Freeport, IL. Jan was born July 11, 1925 in Freeport to Egbert "Bert" and Frances (Kniss) Tavenner. She graduated from Freeport High School and was then employed at Crum and Foster Insurance Company. During WWII she met and married Charles Frisbie on November 11, 1944, together they moved to Mississippi and then eventually back to Illinois and raised their family. Mr. Frisbie passed away on April 9, 1982. Jan was a home maker in the beginning and then worked for 35 years for the Shannon School District as a cook, serving generations of families. She was a life long member of Bethel United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed cooking for her family and outings with her friends. Jan is survived by her two sons, Daniel (Cheri) Frisbie of Freeport and Donald (Jeannie) Frisbie of Shannon; grandchildren, Jessa (Nathan) Ovitt, Ryan (Carrie) Frisbie, Luke Frisbie, Heather (Tony) Collalti, Brandi (Marty) Sellers, Jason (Karen) Feldman and Josh (Stephenie) Feldman; great- grandchildren, Kiah, Laney, Jonas Ovitt, Payton and Owen Frisbie, Caleb and Brooklyn Sellers and Kyle, Kane, Ty and Gage Collalti and Finley Feldman. The family will would like to send a special thank you to Jan's caregivers, Rinet, Terry and Linda for the wonderful care they showed Jan. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and a grandson. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 9, 2017 at Chapel of Peace in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Rev.
