Jane L. Lindenman

August 7, 1939 — July 15, 2024

Jane L. Lindenman, 84, of Freeport, IL, passed away Monday July 15, 2024 at Walnut Acres with her family by her side. She was born August 7, 1939 in Arthur, North Dakota to Edward and Helen (Burmeister) Quittschreiber. Jane grew up in Waddams Grove, IL. She was a graduate of Lena-Winslow High School. Jane married Albert W. Lindenman on December 20, 1956 in Lena, IL. Albert passed away May 15, 2003. Jane worked for the Freeport Police Department for 17 years as a dispatcher and meter maid, which she was the first female meter maid in Freeport. After retiring from the Police Department, Jane and Albert owned and operated Lindenman Maintenance for 31 years. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Freeport.


Her hobbies included collecting precious moments, beanie babies, and angels, among other collectables. She was a huge fan of Dale Earnhardt and also enjoyed dirt racing and gambling. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially the camping and boating trips on the Mississippi River.


She is survived by her son Jeff (Chrisy) Lindenman of Cedarville, IL; six grandchildren Shawn (Jess) Ward, Scott (Amber) Ward, Chelsea (Matt) Kile, Emily Lindenman, Kyle (Tessie) Lindenman, and Cody (Jazzy) Evenson; six great-grandchildren Hudson Ward, Kinley Ward, Taylor Ward, Chase Upmann, Jaxson Evenson, and Bailee Evenson; son-in-law Rodney Vautsmeier, sister-in-law Barb (Earl) Tillet, and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.


Preceding Jane in death is her parents, husband, daughter Pam Vautsmeier; two brothers Robert (Pat) Quittschreiber and Kenneth (Donna) Quittschreiber; and three sisters Marilynn (Dick) Hartman, Evelyn (Floyd) Coad, and Marvel (Charles) Martin.


Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday July 19, 2024 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home, Rev. Willis Schwichtenberg officiating. A visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. A memorial has been established in Jane’s memory. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cynthia Aurand and Shari Nissen for taking wonderful care of their aunt.
