James S. Reed

James S. Reed, 81, of Largo, FL, and formerly of Freeport, IL, died Friday July 31, 2015 at Largo Medical Center. He was born November 21, 1933 in Freeport, IL, the son of Robert and Helen (Stewart) Reed Sr. He married Anita Parkinson March 3, 1957 in Pearl City, IL. James was a Marine serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a mechanic for Manus Motors and Reed Mobil. He was very handy and enjoyed repairs and building things. James is survived by his wife Anita Reed of Largo, FL; sister-in-law Dorothy Reed of Elgin, TX; three special nieces Debra Reed, Kris Wagner, and Roberta Thomas; and also cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents step-parents, two brothers, and an infant daughter. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday August 6, 2015 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport.
