James R. Weckerly

James R. Weckerly, 78, of German Valley, passed away, Sunday December 3, 2023, at FHN Memorial Hospital. James was born October 19, 1945, in Columbus, Ohio, the son of Walter and Ruth (Lamm) Weckerly. James married Bonnie Jean Mullen September 5, 1970 in Adeline. James was the head of the maintenance department for both Structo and Vac-U-Lok, DeKalb. He enjoyed listening to jazz, blues, and classic rock, going fishing, and working in his gardening. He was also a coin and stamp collector.


Surviving is his wife, Bonnie of German Valley; daughters, Veronica (John) Koester of Monroe, Wisconsin, Angela (Gail Myers) Hawkins of Monroe, Wisconsin, and Kristen (Christopher) Koelling; one sister, Nancy Roberts of DeKalb; one half-sister Lily Weckerly of Torrance, California; and two grandchildren, Austin Myers and Olivia Koelling.


Mr. Weckerly was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Anne Fusco.


Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday December 7, 2023 at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home, Freeport. Visitation 11:00 am until the time of service. A memorial has been established in Mr. Weckerly’s memory.
