James Paul Busker, 92, of Freeport died in his home on Tuesday, November 10, 2015. James was born on January 20, 1923 in Baileyville, the son of Jacob and Minnie (Meyer) Busker. On June 19, 1947, James married Leona Marie Kriens in Baileyville. James was self-employed as a dairy farmer in Baileyville and then in McConnell for his adult life, after working several years at W.T. Rawleigh Company. He was a member of the Baileyville Reformed Church and Richland Free Methodist Church. James most loved farming, his family and his church. Survivors include son Daniel (Toni) Busker of McConnell; two daughters, Mary Dagel of Maryville, TN; and Rosalie (Donald) Coyner of Ocala, FL; daughter-in-law, Judy Carscallen of Scales Mound; 10 grandchildren: Eric, James, Jason, Danielle, Brian, Jeremy, Jeffrey, Robert, Melissa, and Jessica; and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Leona, his parents; one son, Dwight; and son-in-law, Gary Dagel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Baileyville Reformed Church, with Pastor Bruce Otto officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 before the funeral at the church. Burial will be at Cranes Grove Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established for Baileyville Reformed Church in James' memory.
