James Meyers

James P. Meyers, 67, of Freeport died Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in his home. Born on February 3, 1946 in Freeport, the son of Stephen and Marie (Hodapp) Meyers. James owned and operated Freeport Sheet Metal from 1983-2005 when he retired. He married Mary Rohde in Freeport on July 2, 1966. James served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1969. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed working around his house, traveling, riding his motorcycle and snowmobile. He loved his family and his dogs Faithie and Freddie. Jim is survived by his wife, Mary; one son Heath (Regan) Meyers of Cherry Valley; one daughter, Heather Meyers Heidenreich of Freeport; four brothers; Richard Meyers, Dennis (Carol) Meyers, Steve (Diane) Meyers and Eugene Meyers; one sister Suzanne (William) Gallagher; and three grandchildren; Cheyenne Heidenreich, Quintin Heidenreich and Beckham Meyers. Preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Robert and Ralph. Visitation will be Saturday 1-4 p.m. at Burke-Tubbs. A memorial has been established in his memory.
