James "Jim" Grabow

James (Jim) L. Grabow, 73, of Shannon, IL passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones on May 16, 2022. Jim was born October 22, 1948 to the parents of Roger and Sylvia (Harnish) Grabow. Jim was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend to all. Jim worked for nearly 50 years as a tool and die maker, construction worker, plumber, and electrician. Jim was an incredibly intelligent and amazing man. He was the most hard-working and dedicated individual and did all he could to support his family. Despite the tough exterior, Jim had the kindest heart and soul and would do all he could to help anyone in need. Jim loved hunting, sports, and all things military. He could strike up a conversation with anybody he encountered-especially about stories from his rebellious teenage years. Jim is survived by his wife; Nancy Grabow (Pals); sons; Rob Wilson (Nicole), and Shawn (Marilag) Wilson; daughters; Naomi Schaney, Marcie Wilson (Kyle), Heidi (Jon) Miller, Haley Wilson (Grant), siblings; Linda (Nelson) Snavely, Susan (Jim) Boeke, and "The Brothers Jim Never Had" Butch (Lana) Grabow, Casey Moritz; and an immense amount of friends that loved and supported him. Jim also had 16 grandchildren that he held closely to his heart and cherished deeply. Jim is joined in death by his beloved parents Roger and Sylvia Grabow; his son Terry Grabow; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Jim is loved and already deeply missed by so many and remembered by all. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday May 20, 2022 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, IL with Rev. Glenn Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the times of service. Burial will be in Cedarville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Jim's memory.
