James "Jim" Edward Miller

James "Jim" Edward Miller, born on January 19, 1952, in Sterling, Illinois, passed away on August 30, 2024, in Warrensburg, Missouri. He was a proud graduate of Polo High School, having completed his education in 1972. Jim served honorably in the United States Army from 1979 until 1982, embodying a commitment to his country that he carried with him throughout his life. After serving, Jim was a member of the American Legion 308, in Forreston as Sergeant at Arms. Known for resourcefulness, he had a unique approach to problem-solving, often attempting to fix everything and anything with duct tape. His personality was one of warmth and humor, and he brought joy to those around him.


A dedicated Chicago Cubs fan, Jim took immense pleasure in cheering for his team, sharing the experience of baseball with family and friends. His passion extended beyond sports; he found great satisfaction in woodworking, where he created pieces that reflected his craft and dedication.


Jim cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, nurturing connections that were very dear to him.


He is survived by his son, Robert (Maria) Ginger; his daughter, Angela (Adam) Fogel; his brothers, Paul (Jeanette) Miller and Robert (Robin) Miller; and his beloved grandchildren, Brian Ginger, Brandon Ginger, and Robert Ginger Jr. Additionally, he is survived by his great-grandchildren, Brandon Ginger Jr., Adrian Ginger, and Amillia Ginger, and nieces and nephews.


Jim was preceded in death by his father, Paul W. Miller; his mother, Shirley Alexander; and his brother, Terry Miller, along with his aunts and uncles. His legacy of love, laughter, and creativity will be remembered by all who knew him.


A celebration of life will be held from 1:00-4:00 P.M. Saturday, September 28, 2024 at the Memorial Park In Forreston, IL. Military honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. A potluck meal will be held and all are encouraged to bring a dish to pass, along with drinks and dining set.
