James "Jake" Jacobs

James "Jake" V. Jacobs, 67, of Freeport, died Wednesday February 24, 2016 in his home. He was born December 7, 1948 in Freeport, IL, the son of Max and Marilyn (Ryan) Jacobs. He married Donna Springborn September 23, 1978 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport, Il. Jake was a sales manager at Eagles Distributing (Budweiser) his entire life until retirement. He was a 1966 Graduate of Aquin Catholic High School and also attended St. Ambrose College. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Freeport. He was an avid Green bay Packer and Highland Cougar Basketball fan. He enjoyed spending time at "The Pit"" with his friends and most importantly spending time with his wife and daughters. Jake is survived by his wife Donna Jacobs of Freeport, IL; three daughters Emily and Katie Jacobs both of Chicago, IL, and Christine Jacobs of Freeport, Il. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Peggy. Funeral mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday February 29, 2016 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Father Ken Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held from noon until 3:00 P.M. Sunday February 28, 2016 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport, and from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Monday.
